Oktoberfest is a sixteen-day festival held each year in Munich, Bavaria, Germany during late September and early October.

Chef Rob Ringler was live on Wednesday's Great Day to cook up some of his favorite Oktoberfest recipes. Ringler made Hot German Potato Salad and Pork Chops in the Great Day Kitchen.

You can catch Chef Ringler daily at the Village Hofbrau in Oakhurst. The Village Hofbrau is located at 40015 Hwy 49 #203 Oakhurst Ca 93644.

Here is the recipe for those who wish to try it at home:

Hot German Potato Salad

INGREDIENTS:

9 Red potatoes,

6 slices bacon

3/4 cup chopped red onion

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

2 tablespoons sugar

2 teaspoons salt

1/2 teaspoon celery seed

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

3/4 cup water

1/3 cup distilled white vinegar

Oktoberfest Pork Chops

 Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Cook Time: 1 Hour

Yields: 8 servings

"Boneless pork chops are marinated for 30 minutes in a mixture made of Oktoberfest special brew, garlic, and Old BayTM seasoning, breaded and then baked to perfection."

  INGREDIENTS:

2 (12 fluid ounce) bottle Oktoberfest Beer

2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

6 cloves garlic, minced

2 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning

2 teaspoons salt and ground black pepper

8 boneless pork loin chops, pounded thin

2/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

2 cups Panko crumbs

4 eggs

DIRECTIONS:

1. In large freezer bag, combine beer, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, Old Bay Seasoning, salt, pepper, and pork chops. Marinate for 30 minutes.

2. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). On a large plate, mix Panko crumbs and Parmesan cheese. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs until creamy. Remove pork chops from marinade. Dip each chop in egg, then press into crumb mixture to coat. Transfer chops to non-stick baking pan.

3. Bake in preheated oven for 25 minutes on one side. Turn chops over and continue cooking for another 25 minutes. Raise temperature to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C), and continue cooking until pork chops achieve an internal temperature of 160 degrees F (70 degrees C) and the coating is crispy.
