DALLAS, July 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Civitas EB-5 Capital ("Civitas"), a leading sponsor of institutional-quality EB-5 investments nationwide, today announced that U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services ("USCIS") has approved the first I-829 petition filed by an individual Civitas client. With this approval, Civitas and the City of Dallas Regional Center ("CDRC"), which the firm manages in a public-private partnership with the City of Dallas, Texas, join a select few Regional Centers whose investors have completed the arduous EB-5 immigration process and become permanent residents of the United States.

"This is an exciting milestone," said Civitas' Chief Executive Officer Dan Healy. "We pride ourselves on being a long-term advisor with industry-leading investor relations support and services. A great deal of hard work goes into building deep and lasting relationships with our client partners as we help build new lives and business relationships in the United States. We celebrate with them today."

The I-829 petition is the final step in the EB-5 process to becoming a permanent resident of the U.S., which begins with each client making a $500,000 investment in a job-creating U.S. enterprise. Through the I-829 petition, the individual investor must prove that the required job creation actually took place in order to be a lawful permanent resident of the U.S.

"I am also excited for the City of Dallas," said Healy. "Through the CDRC, EB-5 investors are creating real jobs for Americans in our city, as this approval clearly demonstrates. The capital we've raised from international investors is playing an increasingly important role in revitalizing our communities. I'm eager to replicate this success not only throughout Dallas, but the entire country."

Through its EB-5 Capital division, Civitas is the manager of 14 Regional Centers throughout the United States, which have funded or are in the process of providing hundreds of millions of dollars of EB-5 capital to a range of projects. The projects have created thousands of jobs in the communities where they are located.  Earlier this year, Civitas secured approval to operate Regional Centers in Atlanta, Denver, Miami and New York City. The company is the exclusive EB-5 partner for the Texas cities of Dallas, Fort Worth, Laredo, and El Paso.
