Fire Damages Tower Cafe and Tower Theatre

Posted:

Investigators are trying to figure out what started a fire that damaged a popular Tower District restaurant and the historic Tower Theater.

Firefighters were called out to the Tower Cafe on olive and Wishon Avenue just after 11:00 p.m. Tuesday night.

When firefighters got there, they say the cafe's kitchen was on fire.

The cafe was open at the time but people were able to get out safely.

While crews were able to stop the fire from spreading quickly, they say the nearby historic Tower Theater was filled with smoke, leaving the walls slightly damaged.

No one was hurt.
