7 Year Old Girl Left in Car Overnight in Madera, Mother Arrested

Madera police say a 7 year old girl was left unattended in a car over the weekend for more than 2 hours.

It was reported by two people who spotted the girl early Sunday morning, at about 2:45 a.m.

It happened at the Bridgeview Apartments near Yosemite Ave. and Tozer in Madera.

The girl told the two people that her mom had been gone for a long time.

Police showed up and searched the complex.

The mother later returned to the car, and was arrested for child endangerment.

Madera police offered their thanks to Michael Garcia and Phylicia Zavala for keeping the girl safe during the investigation.
