Pedestrian Hit By Car Near Fresno's Roeding Park

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A man is in the hospital getting hit by a car overnight.

This crash happened just before 1:00 a.m. Tuesday morning on Belmont Avenue and H Street near Fresno’s Roeding Park.

Officers were called out to the area after someone reported seeing a body on the road.

Police say the man driving the car was on his way to work and didn't see the other man walking on Belmont and was not able to avoid hitting him.

The man who was hit was taken to the hospital and is in critical condition.

The driver did remain at the scene and the cause is still being investigated.
