Roasted Corn Vendor Arrested in Stabbing Investigation

A roasted corn vendor is now under arrest, accused of stabbing a customer.

Fresno police say it started with an incident in the area of Normal and Mayfair on Wednesday.

Officers say a man with a dog wanted to buy something from Luis Arce's cart.

The dog started nipping at Arce's leg.

Arce pushed the dog away with his foot.

That upset the customer.

Thursday, Arce was pushing his cart through the same neighborhood.

The dog's owner spotted him and yelled at Arce about kicking his dog.

The two then got into a fight, and that's when police say Arce pulled a knife.

The victim was stabbed and rushed to the hospital.

He's expected to be okay.

Arce was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon.
