Raiders Take Derek Carr With 2nd-Round Pick

By JOSH DUBOW, AP Sports Writer

ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) -- The Oakland Raiders have drafted Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr with the 36th overall pick in the NFL draft.

The Raiders took Carr with the fourth pick in the second round on Friday night despite having traded for Matt Schaub in March and anointing him the starter.

Carr is the younger brother of former No. 1 overall pick David Carr. Derek Carr was one of the most productive quarterbacks in college football last season, throwing for 5,083 yards and 50 touchdowns with only eight interceptions.

The Raiders previously took linebacker Khalil Mack with their first-round pick Thursday. Oakland still has the third pick in the third round, 67th overall, to make Friday.
