Hit & Run Leaves Father Of 4 Paralyzed, Help Solve Crime!

Posted:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A Fresno father of four is paralyzed from the waist down after a pickup truck hit him on his bicycle and then took off.

Now the family of the victim hopes a tip comes in.

The hit and run took place Tuesday night around 7 o'clock, near the corner of McKinley and West in Fresno.

40-year-old Danny Arias was riding his bike and hit from behind.

Benjamin Arias is Danny's cousin. He says, "Danny does have some function with his arms. He is able to push out but not be able to pull back in."

Fresno police say witnesses told them a goldish or brownish Chevy or GMC pickup truck with two men inside hit Arias.

Family members say if it was truly an accident, come forward.

Benjamin Arias says, "We would like justice. Somebody would have a sensitive heart and turn themselves in."

Until then, family members are asking for prayers and support for Arias and his children.

Fresno detectives are asking for help in solving this hit and run.

Police say the truck involved in the accident has to have substantial damage to its front end.

Anyone with information about the case it urged to call Crimestoppers at 559-498-STOP, that's 559-498-7867.

Remember you could earn yourself a $1,000 reward for your tip and you don't even have to give your name.
