Man Killed in Clovis After Stand-Off With Sheriff's Deputies

CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -

A 23-year-old man with a criminal history is dead – killed by Fresno County sheriff's deputies Thursday after an early morning stand off in the area of Sunnyside between Teague and Nees in Clovis.

Over the last 3 years, police had been called to this home 28 times for various criminal and mental health issues.

Sheriff's Deputy, Chris Curtis told KMPH Fox 26 News the man had a gun. Deputies felt threatened and shot him. The man died.

Sunnyside in this rural area remains closed between Teague and Nees while this investigation continues.
