PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KMPH) -

Four people were arrested at a home in Porterville after police discovered marijuana plants growing in the backyard.

The home, in the 300 block of North Beverly Street, had been under investigation by police and a search warrant was served shortly after 9 a.m. Friday.

That's when police say they found several marijuana plants growing in the backyard, along with drug paraphernalia associated with drug sales around the house.

The suspects, who police say were under the influence of drugs at the time of the search, were arrested and booked into the Tulare County Jail.

They are identified as Anna Marie Reece, 50, Jose Fernando Juarez, 42, Sarah Sanchez, 32, and Alonzo Johnson, 38.

A 3-year-old who was inside the home was turned over to Child Welfare Services. Police say the child had access to potentially harmful prescription medication inside the home.
