Suspected Priest Killer Pleads Not Guilty

The man accused of killing a Eureka priest has now pleaded not guilty to charges including murder.

44-year-old Gary Lee Bullock is accused of killing Reverend Eric Freed during a violent struggle in the St. Bernard Catholic Church rectory on January 1st.

Bullock was arrested Thursday near his family's home and bail was set at $1.2 million.

On Sunday, hundreds of mourners in Eureka said goodbye to Reverend Freed.

The coroner's report shows Freed died of blunt force injuries.

Investigators say Bullock was released from jail just hours before Freed was killed.
