Obesity May Lead To Hearing Loss

Watch your waistline, keep your hearing.

A new study finds the heavier a person, the greater their chance of hearing loss.

Researchers at Brigham Young Woman's Hospital found women who were considered obese, with a Body Mass Index of 30 to 34, were 17 – percent more likely to lose their hearing.

People with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 40 or greater had a 25% higher risk of hearing loss.

Researchers believe the link could be caused by inflammation from obesity, type two diabetes or heart disease.
