Missing Merced Children Found Near Chowchilla

MERCED, Calif. (KMPH) -

Update:

The two missing Merced children were reportedly found safe Tuesday morning near Chowchilla.

The children were found at an abandoned building north of Chowchilla around 10:00 a.m.

The kids were spotted by a Pepsi delivery drive who reported them to the California Highway Patrol.

The children are being questioned by authorities to determine why they were so far from home and where they were heading.

 


 

Merced police are asking for the public's help locating a pair of children missing since Sunday.

The brother and sister went outside to play around 8:30 a.m. and were last seen buying candy at a gas station around 11:00 a.m.

Alex Crowson is 11-years-old, 4' 5" and weighs 70 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black zip-front sweatshirt with the words "NOR-CAL" on the front and a star on the back. It was over a striped shirt with a pair of blue jeans.

Aponi Crowson is 10-years-old, 4' 5" and weighs 70 pounds. She was wearing a pink sweater, a purple SpongeBob SquarePants T-shirt and blue leggings.

The two may be trying to get to their grandmother's house in Terra Bella.
