Three Children Arrested/Charged In Robbery/Beating Of 91 Year-Old

Posted:
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

Two 15 year-olds and a 12 year-old are in custody and charged with beating a 91 year-old veteran in his Fresno County Home.  The search is on for others who the Fresno County Sheriff's Department think were involved in the beating and robbery.

The Sheriff's Department sent this News Release to KMPH News a short time ago:

Fresno County Sheriff's detectives are asking for the public's help in identifying the suspects responsible for an early morning home invasion robbery of an elderly Fresno man.

Thursday morning, shortly after 2:00am, deputies responded to a residence located in the 5000 block of E Lewis Ave regarding the robbery.

The 91 year old victim reported at approximately 1:30am, he was awakened when the light in his bedroom suddenly turned on.  When he awoke, he was confronted by a black male suspect armed with a handgun.  While the suspect held him at gunpoint, three other suspects ransacked his residence.

The victim was then ordered into his bedroom closet.  As he moved into the closet, the suspect struck him in the head with the handgun, causing him to fall to the floor of the closet.  The suspect then closed the closet door.

After about ten minutes, the victim crawled out of the closet and realized the suspects had fled with cash and jewelry.  He then called 911.

The suspects are described as three black males and one black female.  All were wearing black pants and black sweatshirts with unknown red writing or an emblem on the front.  All of the suspects were wearing masks over their faces, and at least two were armed with handguns.

The victim received lacerations to his head and cheek as a result of the incident.  He was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel, and did not require hospitalization
