Veterans Day is Monday, November 11th and there are some events taking place and discounts veterans can take advantage of around the Valley.

City of Fresno Veterans Day Parade

The City of Fresno Veterans Day Parade takes place November 11th at 11:11 a.m. in front of Fresno City Hall.

Veterans Day Parade - Visalia

The Veterans Day Parade begins at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street in Visalia and ends at the Visalia Veterans Memorial Building.

1st Annual Veterans Day Parade - Lemoore

A Veterans Day Parade will be held to honor service men and women who have served our country for the cause of freedom on Monday, November 11th at 6:00 p.m. in downtown Lemoore.

95th Annual Veteran's Day Parade - Porterville

The Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Main Street in downtown Porterville.


9th Annual Hubbard Baro Golf Tournament

The 9th Annual Hubbard Baro Golf Tournament will be held at the Fort Washington Country Club in Fresno on Monday, November 11th. The event will begin at 9:30 am. A military salute, invocation, ceremony honoring the Valley's fallen service members, and the raising of the flags will be held at 10:45 am. This annual event was first organized in 2004 by friends and fellow Buchanan High School students in honor of Jeremiah Baro and Jared Hubbard, Buchanan classmates and friends who were both killed in action in Iraq on November 4, 2004.

Clovis Veterans Memorial District

The Clovis Veterans Memorial District has a full day of events on Monday. The day begins with a VFW Pancake Breakfast in the Independence Room from 7-11am. There will also be veterans memorabilia on display in Boardroom A & B from 9am to 4pm. The Clovis Community Band will be performing in the Liberty Ballroom at 11:15 and a veteran book signing takes place in the Veterans Room. Authors of "Stories of Service" and "Into the Night" will be signing noon to 4pm.

Star Spangled Ball

Star Spangled Ball at Sunnyside Country Club - Saturday, November 16. The fundraising event supports Central Valley Veterans with emergency housing, furnishings, car repairs, water and energy bills, household goods and more. The ball features dinner, no-host bar, music and dancing and a silent and live auction. Visit www.Centralvalleyveterans.org for more information.



JC Penney Discount

JC Penney will give all current and former military personnel and family members of active duty, reserves, guard and retirees, a 20% discount in stores from November 6-11. Print the coupon at JCP.com/military.

Free Meal at Hooters

Hooters is offering a free meal up to $10.99 with any drink purchase to all veterans and active duty military. Just show your military ID or proof of service on Veterans Day.

Free Lunch at Texas Roadhouse

Fresno's Texas Roadhouse invite veterans and active members of U.S. military to enjoy FREE lunch on Monday, November 11 10am-3pm. All veterans - including all active, retired or former U.S. military -  can choose one of 10 entrees, including a 6-ounce sirloin and two made-from-scratch sides plus a choice of any Coca-Cola product, sweet tea/ice tea or coffee during lunch. Proof of service includes military or VA card, or discharge papers.

Coarsegold Miners Grill

The Coarsegold Miners grill is honoring Veterans by serving them meals free of charge tomorrow 11/11/13. As part of the restaurant's owner celebration will have a live DJ along with a recently returning Veteran from Iraq who will be greeting fellow Veterans throughout the day. Becky, the owner, has a great heart.

Free Meal at Applebees

Veterans and active duty military receive a free meal from a limited menu on Veterans Day.

Free Pizza at California Pizza Kitchen

Veterans and active military can receive a free pizza at California Pizza Kitchen on Veterans Day.

Free Meal at Chili's

Veterans and active duty get a free entree at Chili's all day from a limited menu on Veterans Day.

Free Pancakes at Denny's

Active, inactive and retired military personnel can get free all you can eat pancakes at Denny's on Veterans Day.

Free Meal at Famous Dave's

Famous Dave's is offering various discounts and free meals on Veterans Day with proof of service.

Free Meal and Discounts at Olive Garden

All veterans and current servicemembers get a free meal from a limited menu from Olive Garden on Veterans Day. Family dining with them will also receive 10% off their meal.

Free Appetizer at Red Lobster

Veterans and current servicemembers receive a complimentary appetizer from a limited menu at Red Lobster November 11-14.

Free Burger at Red Robin


Veterans and active duty military get a free Tavern Double Burger and Bottomless Steak Fries on Veterans Day.

Free Lunch at Sizzler

Sizzler is offering active duty and retired military members a free lunch from a limited menu on 11am-4pm on Veterans Day.

Free Lunch at TGI Fridays

Veterans and active duty military get a free lunch from a select menu at TGI Fridays on Veterans Day 11am-2pm.

20% Off at Bed Bath and Beyond

Bed Bath and Beyond is offering veterans 20% off their entire purchase November 9-11 for military and spouses.

11% Discount at Dollar General

Veterans, active military, members of the National Guard and Reserve and immediate family members get 11% off the total purchase on Veterans Day.

Free Haircut at Great Clips

Customers who come in for a service can get a free haircut card to give to their favorite veteran. Veterans can also receive a free haircut or get the free haircut card. Haircuts are redeemable until Dec. 31.

10% Discount at Home Depot  

Home Depot offers a 10% discount to all veterans on Veterans Day.

10% Discount at Lowe's

All veterans receive a 10% discount on Veterans Day at Lowe's stores.

Free Haircut at Sport Clips

Participating locations are offering veterans and active duty servicemembers free haircuts on Veterans Day.

15-20% Discount at Walgreens

Walgreens is offering 15% off eligible store items and 20% off Walgreens W brand products on Veterans Day.
