Clovis Police Chief Retiring After 26 Years

CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -

he City of Clovis is searching for a new police chief.

After nearly six years as the city's top cop and 26 years total with the Clovis Police Department, Police Chief Janet Davis announced Tuesday she  plans to retire in December.

Davis said it was an honor and a privilege to represent the men and women of the Clovis Police Department and Clovis Mayor Lynn Ashbeck says Chief Davis was a big reason why Clovis remains the safest city in the valley.

Clovis City Manager Rob Woolley says the city plans to recruit internally for the city's next chief.
