The Bulldogs moved into the top 15 in the AP rankings for the first time since 2001 Sunday, but just as importantly, they sit at 17 in the first BCS rankings released this season. Fresno State's the highest ranked non-AQ school, one ahead of Northern Illinois.
In order to guarantee a BCS bowl berth at the end of the season, the 'Dogs will need to finish ahead of the Huskies and in the top 12. They could also get in if they finish in the top 16 and no school from the AAC conference finishes above them. That scenario is increasingly likely after Louisville's loss Friday night.
