Fresno Meth Cooking Operation Shut Down In NW Fresno

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Police raided a home in Northwest Fresno where suspects were cooking meth, which police say is highly explosive.

The home is located in a quite residential neighborhood near Herndon and Polk.

Officers shut the operation down Wednesday, collecting more than 55 pounds of drugs.

Officers say the drug dealers had ties to Los Angeles and Mexico.

They also say fumes inside the home from cooking the meth could have caused an explosion if exposed to an open flame.

More than a dozen suspects have been arrested in connection with the lab.

Investigators say the operation was capable of producing $1.5 million of methamphetamine per week.
