VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -

The Visalia Police Department announced they have a suspect in custody, accused of harassing and soliciting sex from a minor.

The department conducted the investigation after the 17-year-old male student reported the suspect harassed him on three different occasions within the past month in the area of Prospect and Giddings as he walked to school.

Police say the suspect, Ramon Tovar, aka: "Jasmine", offered the student a ride and also solicited him for sex.

An officer with the department's youth services observed the suspect stop the student Wednesday morning and took him into custody.
