The victim has been identified as 18-year-old Lishmar Montengro of Fontana.

A busy Clovis intersection is closed while police investigate a deadly crash.

At about 12:30 a.m. police say a construction worker was killed at Clovis Avenue and Fifth Street.

Police were trying to pull over a pick-up in the area of Clovis Avenue and Eight Street when the driver sped off going northbound on Clovis.

Officers say the truck then hit a 19-year-old man who had been working at a construction site on Clovis Avenue.

That man was killed and the driver, 31-year-old Justin Desatoff was arrested for suspicion of driving under influence.

Officers have closed off Fifth Street from Pollasky to Hughes and Clovis Avenue from Fourth to Eight Street while they investigate.

The road is expected to reopen at 10:00 a.m.

Parents dropping off children at Clark Intermediate School are asked to take Sunnyside Avenue to get around.
