13 Dead In Washington D.C. Shooting

WASHINGTON (KMPH) -

Thirteen people were killed and several more wounded following a shooting at a Navy yard Monday morning in Washington D.C., and one of the dead is the suspected gunman, 34-year-old Aaron Alexis of Fort Worth, Texas.

Alexis, was discharged from the Navy within the last few years after serving in Texas and Illinois.

One of the is a D.C. Metro police officer who is in surgery.

Investigators were searching for two more suspects believed to be involved, but one was located and cleared.

Three thousand people work in and around that building, and thousands more live and work nearby.

As a precaution, flights in and out of D.C. Reagan National Airport were temporarily restricted.

Investigators are planning another news conference Monday afternoon.
