Over 100 West Nile Cases In California


Two people from Tulare County had to go to the hospital after getting the West Nile virus in the last ten days.

Tulare County health officials made the announcement Friday morning.

Across the state, 101 people have gotten sick with West Nile virus so far this year.

The virus is transmitted to humans by mosquitoes and there is no vaccine or medicine to treat the virus.

Most people infected with West Nile will have no symptoms, but it can affect the central nervous system in older adults.
