Posted:
FRIANT, Calif. (KMPH) -

A pharmacy in Friant was burglarized over the weekend and it was all caught on camera.

Fresno County sheriff's deputies say the thief snuck in through the roof, stole medicine, and caused thousands of dollars in damages.

Officials have turned to the video to try and catch the man responsible. Deputies say the thief left behind a trail of clues including his blood and the tools he used to break in.

In the video, you can see a man kicking his way through the pharmacy's ceiling around 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. Moments later, he pokes out his feet, one by one sliding down the down the air conditioning shaft into the pharmacy. He used a hammer to break through the glass on a door where the medicine is kept, looked through the cabinets and only took cough syrup, even though there were controlled substances in there.

The thief left behind several drops of his blood, his shoe prints, the hammer, and a saw he used to carve through the ceiling as evidence.

The pharmacy owner says the damages are in the thousands.

Anyone with information about the crime is asked to contact the Fresno County Sheriff's Department.
