Fallen CHP Officer & Relative: Thousands Honor Men In Procession

Posted: Updated:
VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -

An amazing show of support by law enforcement agencies though out the state, for fallen C.H.P. officer Jesus Magdaleno Junior and his brother-in-law Felix Brandon Cruz as they returned home back to Visalia.

The men were killed in a crash, after a carjacker tried to steal Magdaleno's truck in Las Vegas.

A procession nearly 3 miles long followed the two white vehicles that carried the men.

Some along the procession clapped, others cheered, and some just stood silent in prayer and cried.

Officers in the procession said every overpass along the 99 freeway had people holding signs of support and were cheering, welcoming home their heroes.

In Visalia, thousands lined the streets.

Many were strangers who did not even know the two men, but felt they needed be there.
