Nick King

"Tell me a fact and I'll learn. Tell me a truth and I'll believe. But tell me a story and it will live in my heart forever."

Nick is KMPH's Sports Reporter and Weekend Sports Anchor, and that quote from NFL Films founder Ed Sabol is the best example of why he's in the TV business.

Nick was born in Orange, CA, but lasted only eight months in the Golden State before moving to Pennsylvania, where he spent the next 17 years. From Pennsy, it was on to North Carolina, eventually graduating with a degree from UNC-Chapel Hill's School of Journalism and Mass Communication.

After college, Nick was in Virginia and Missouri for several years before getting lucky enough to head to Fresno. And this is a dream come true - he's been telling his parents since he was five years old he would make it back to California.

The biggest thrills of his short journalism career include covering the 2009 national title winning UNC hoops team, as well as Game 6 of the 2012 Western Conference Finals in Oklahoma City. But as memorable as those games and subsequent celebrations were, it all comes back to the quote at the top, and that means telling the stories of area athletes and fans whose tales most times wouldn't otherwise be heard.

Nick's favorite non-work activities include playing basketball and golf, watching TV and movies, reading and cooking.
