Man Shot And Killed While Drinking Beer Outside Kerman Store

Fresno County sheriffs deputies are investigating a homicide in Kerman.

That's where a man was shot and killed in front of a neighborhood grocery store.

Deputies answered the call just after noon on Sunday.

When they arrived, they found a man's body just steps away from the market.

Witnesses told deputies the man was enjoying a beer and suddenly he was shot.

The victim's family was called by a friend who thought he was a relative.

"All I wanted to know if it really was my uncle. And then we got here and someone told me that it was somebody that did know him. It was just heartbreaking, it was heartbreaking," said the victim's niece, Sandra Valdez.

She describes her uncle, 46–year old Antonio Reynoso, as a loving man who left behind four small children.

The family stood vigil for hours, desperate for answers.

Not far away, deputies continued to dig for clues hopping to track down a killer.

"And it doesn't really matter to me. Whoever did this, you know I hope they are bring to justice. But just as well there is a greater power out there and justice will be prevailed," Valdez said.
