Clovis East's Polterock is a Professional Wake Skater

Posted:
SANGER, Calif. (KMPH) -

At 15 years old, Austin Polterock is as young a professional athlete as you'll find. But after winning multiple amateur wake skate titles as a 13 and 14-year-old, there was really no choice but to turn pro. Now Polterock is competing mostly against guys 10 years his senior, but the Clovis East student already has a 3rd place finish to his name.

Water sports are in the Polterock family blood - Austin often competes in the same tournament as his dad and younger sister, who are slalom skiers. Both his sister and an aunt are water skiing national champions.

Perhaps the best thing going for the young pro is his training facility - multiple man-made lakes sit within 100 yards of the Polterock home in Sanger.
