Man Surrenders After Standoff With Clovis Police

CLOVIS, Calif. (KMPH) -

A man who barricaded himself in a house for several hours on Friday morning after a standoff with police surrendered peacefully.

The standoff began around 1:15 a.m. when police received a call from a woman who reported having been beaten by her boyfriend.

The man then left to his home in the 3200 block of Sierra Madre.

Police say the man will not come out of the home. Police also say the man may have been armed. 

Negotiators are on scene and have been trying to convince him to come out.

Neighbors have been told to lock their doors and remain inside.

The man face charges of domestic violence and false imprisonment, police said.
