Man Says "Devil" Made Him Bite Other Man's Finger Off

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A bizarre episode in northwest Fresno Friday cost one man a finger when another man bit it off after going nuts in a neighborhood, police say.

Police arrested Scotty Blair after receiving calls that a man was running down the street and in and out of yard on North Manor street, breaking furniture, screaming and yelling about the devil in his head.

Investigators say Blair appears to have overdosed on drugs shortly before his rampage.

Police also say Blair attacked a homeowner for no apparent reason after diving through the window of his home and biting one of his fingers off in the struggle.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Blair was arrested for burglary, mayhem, assault and drug charges.
