Bandit Wearing Hockey Jersey Sought By Police

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Fresno police are searching for an armed person who robbed two Fresno businesses.

In one of the robberies, the person is seen wearing a Los Angeles Kings hockey jersey.

The first robbery took place at 11:45 am on April 21 at Leonor's Barber Shop. Police say the suspect spoke Spanish and took money from customers and the business before leaving on a bicycle.

The second robbery took place at 6:50 a.m. on April 23 at La Estrella Bakery. Police say the suspect again spoke Spanish and posed as a customer ordering tamales. He then pulled out a  handgun and demanded money from the register before leaving on foot.

The robber is described as an approximately 45-year-old Hispanic male, about 5 feet 7 inches tall with a medium build. He is said to have a mustache and a large scar from his left ear down his neck.

Police say the robber is considered armed and dangerous and may be responsible for additional robberies in the neighborhood.

Anyone with information is asked to call 621-2427 or Crime Stoppers at 498-STOP where an anonymous tip leading to an arrest could be worth $1,000.
