Man's Motorcycle Stolen Day After His Funeral

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

It was a Fresno man's dying wish. Eric Reyes wanted his prized motorcycle be given to his 9-year-old son. Thursday night his prized 2000 Harley Davidson Road King was stolen from the Pancho Villa Riders Motorcycle clubhouse in west Fresno.

Eric's wife, Irene Reyes says, "Please bring it back, it's not for the money. It's the only thing Eric wanted for his son."

Irene lost Eric to a liver disease.

The 46-year old was on the organ donor list, but the call never came.

Irene Reyes says, "Eric's son was so sad, and he started asking if he could at least have his father's gloves. He didn't know the bike was for him."

But Thursday night, the red custom Harley with spoke wheels, and fish tail mufflers was stolen. Club officer Don Rudy Solis says, Eric was a "brother" of the club and whoever stole from him stole from all of them.

Solis says, "When we lose a member a part of us dies with him."

Solis says Pancho Villa Riders have now notified motorcycle clubs through out the state about the theft to be on the lookout for that bike because they plan to get it back.

Solis says, "Someone took part of his life away from his family."

Over the years, the Pancho Villa Riders Motorcycle Club has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for a variety of organizations throughout the valley.

Many of their members are former police officers and sheriff deputies.

Club members want the motorcycle returned.
