The Madera County Coroner's Office has released the name of the girl who was killed Tuesday in a crash on Highway 99.
Kilia Flores, 6, of Reedley, died in a hit and run car crash around 4:30 p.m. near Avenue 12, the California Highway Patrol said.
A mini van made an unsafe lane change and ran the car carrying the 6-year-old-girl, her mother and her 13-year-old brother off of the paved portion of the highway, the CHP said. The CHP said the car then rolled over multiple times before coming to rest in a nearby vineyard.
The three passengers in the car were all wearing seat belts, but the damage to the car was extensive, the CHP said.
The driver and the teenage boy inside of the car were rushed to the hospital, officers said. The 6-year-old girl died at the scene.
CHP is investigating the accident.
