FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Top executives for Pacific Gas and Electric Co. on Friday honored seven utility workers for their role in helping a coworker attacked by a motorist last month.

The seven workers were awarded the John A. Britton Bronze Medal Award, an award named after PG&E's first president.

The award recognizes individuals or teams whose actions display exceptional courage, self-sacrifice, initiative and resourcefulness, according to the PG&E website.

Tony Earley, PG&E Corporation's chairman, CEO and president, and Chris Johns, PG&E's president, presented the awards to the workers who came to the aid Rayshawn Neely.

Neely was pinned in by a car while he was on duty in a Feb. 1. attack.
