A 15-year-old girl in Porterville managed to break free after a man tried to pull her into his car, police said.
The incident happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the area of Wisconsin Street and Olive Avenue.
Police say a man wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt pulled up behind the teenage girl in a 4-door sedan. He then offered the teenager a ride.
When the teenager refused, however, the man grabbed her by the wrist.
Police said the girl managed to break free of his grasp. She then ran to a nearby location and called police.
The man, police said, may have gotten back into the car and left in an unknown direction.
This case is currently under investigation.
