Authorities Investigate Suspicious Fire In Vacant SE Fresno Home

A fire that broke out in an empty home early Wednesday morning is under investigation, fire officials said.

The Fresno Fire Department arrived at fire at a home in the 3600 block of East McKenzie Avenue around 7:15 a.m.

It took 18 firefighters to bring this fire under control in under 10 minutes.

According to the landlord of the property, the home was supposed to have been unoccupied. However, officials said it appears people had been living in it for some time.

There were no injuries reported.

Damage is estimated at $60,000, and the cause is under investigation.

Officials say there are strong indicators that this fire was intentionally set.

There have been four arson fires in Fresno in the last 24 hours.
