85 Pounds Of Marijuana Seized In Drug Bust, Three Arrested

Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

A law enforcement agency on Wednesday seized 85 pounds of processed marijuana and arrested three people connected to a Texas drug ring.

The arrests began with the Multi-Agency Gang Enforcement Consortium Metropolitan Tactical making a traffic stop in southwest Fresno of 33-year-old David Marks, who was wanted on weapons charges and had warrants out in Ventura County. After a search of the car, officers found a bullet-proof vest and five pounds of marijuana. Officers then took MArks and his 28-year-old passenger, Peter Bandaphone, into custody.

Officers then went to an apartment in the 3000 block of East Hammond Avenue where Marks had been seen leaving prior to the traffic stop.

That's where officers seized more than 85 pounds of processed marijuana with an estimated street value of $85,000 dollars. Keo Souvannasane, 37, was arrested at the apartment.

Officers say the three were distributing marijuana in the Central Valley with a link to Texas.

All three were booked into the Fresno County Jail for a variety of narcotics related offenses. Marks was also booked on his weapons violations and out of county warrants.
