
The New Mexico Lobos, ranked 18th in the nation, overcame a 13 point first half deficit to fight off an upset bid by Fresno State Wednesday night, rallying past the Bulldogs, 54-48.
Fresno State, in last place in the Mountain West, took a 48-45 lead with 3:47 left in the game on a three pointer by Kevin Olekaibe, but did not score again.
The Lobos, who lead the conference, finished with the last nine points of the contest to improve to 21-4 overall and 8-2 in the Mountain West.
Olekaibe scored 11 points to lead the Bulldogs while Kevin Foster scored ten with ten rebounds.
Fresno State falls to 8-15 overall, 2-8 in the Mountain West.
The Bulldogs play at Wyoming on Saturday.
