Fresno State Softball Off To 4-1 Start


The Fresno State softball team defeated Sacramento State Sunday, 3-2 to close the Bulldogs' annual kick-off tournament.

Fresno State went 4-1 in its first weekend of action in the 2013 season.

The Bulldogs never trailed, taking a 1-0 lead on a second inning rbi single by Diane Runge.

After the Hornets tied it 1-1, Brenna Moss scored on a fourth inning wild pitch the put the Bulldogs back in front.

Then in the bottom of the sixth, with the score tied 2-2, Maria Sio scored on an error to give Fresno State the winning run.

The Bulldogs return to action Wednesday, hosting Cal State Northridge.
