MADERA COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

A half a dozen Madera teens were arrested in connection to a three-day crime spree in Madera county, authorities said.

Nicholas Javier Castrejon,19, Angel Barrios, 19, two 17-year-olds, a 15 year old and a 14 year old whose names cannot be released because they are juveniles, were arrested for rash of strong arm robberies, at least one shooting and several carjackings that began in the pre-dawn hours on Jan. 21.

The group of teens may have ties to a local criminal street gang, the Madera County Sheriff's Office said.

The crime spree began when Madera officers responded to a an armed robbery on Almond Street and responded to the carjacking where a gunman ordered the driver of a 2002 Dodge Durango out of his car at gunpoint and forced him to lie on the ground face down a short time later.

A day later, sheriff's deputies responded to an armed robbery attempt at a store located on Road 24 in Madera County. One of the suspect fired shots into the store and the store clerk fired back. One of the bullets fired from the suspect's weapon narrowly missed the victim's head, according to reports.

Twenty minutes later, the Sheriff's Office was called to a carjacking located on Brook Drive, where a woman was yanked from her vehicle. And just like the carjacking the previous morning, she too was ordered to the ground.

On the following day, Madera Police responded to two attempted armed robberies -- 20 minutes apart-- one located on Quadi Lane and the other on La Creda.

The final call came on Jan. 24 when Madera police responded to a carjacking at Town & Country Park. Officers later located the stolen vehicle parked outside a home on Avenue 17. Sheriff's detectives were called out to the location where they recovered a Buick 4-door Sedan that was involved in the Jan. 21 carjacking.

The first of the two 17-year-old juveniles was taken into custody that night and booked in Madera County Juvenile Hall. A second teen was arrested on Jan. 28; three more teens were arrested on Jan. 30 and a final teen was arrested on Jan. 31.

Because of the nature of these cases, authorities did not release information on the cause until Wednesday afternoon, said Erica Stuart, spokeswoman for the Madera County Sheriff's Office.

The two adults are being held inside Madera County Department of Corrections and the four juveniles are being housed in Madera County Juvenile Hall.

All six are facing a number of felony charges, including, carjacking, strong arm robbery, criminal street gang activity, and attempted murder.
