Man Accused Of Ramming PG&E Worker In Court

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KMPH) -

The man accused of calling himself "Jesus" and running down a Pacific Gas and Electric worker last week is scheduled to make his first court appearance this afternoon.

Jett Simmons Mcbride, 54, of Tacoma, Wash., is facing attempted murder charges after ramming the 37-year-old PG&E worker with his car because of the color of his skin, police said.

That's when a hitchhiker who had been catching a ride with Mcbride began hitting the man with a hatchet.

McBride had been previously reported missing by his wife when he left Washington nearly three weeks ago, according the Fresno County Sheriff's Office.

Several women ran to help the PG&E worker, who suffered two broken legs in the attack, but were in turn attacked by Mcbride began to attack them.
