Posted: Updated:
FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

Heald College is hosting a job fair next that will be open to the public and attended by nearly 30 area employers that are currently accepting applications for employment opportunities. According to a recent report released by the Employment Development Department (December, 2012), 14.9% of Fresno County residents are currently unemployed (down from 16.2% in December, 2011).

The job fair has been designed to help some of the roughly 65,400 unemployed Fresno County residents find work. The job fair will give participants the opportunity to interact with potential employers who represent a wide range of career and employment options. Participants will find representatives from a variety of industries ranging from restaurant management to financial planning.

In addition to the job fair, Heald College will have financial aid and admission advisors on hand to provide members of the community with information on how to find scholarships that are specific to their talents and needs, while providing them with simple tips on how to increase their chances of receiving a scholarship or grant.

"We are extremely excited to have the opportunity to bring area employers and members of the community together for a common cause," explains Carolyn Pierce, Campus President of Heald College Fresno. "We know the job fair will be a success and look forward to bringing together quality job seekers with a wide range of employers seeking qualified employees."

The job fair will be held Wednesday, January 30th from 10am to 2pm at Heald College at 255 W. Bullard Avenue in Fresno.
