Jose G. Montesdeoca, 42, escaped from Mountain Home Conservation Camp in
Tulare
County on Dec. 14,
1996.
Montesdeoca was sent to state prison on March 1, 1996 from Los Angeles County, and was supposed to serve a four year sentence for
possession of a controlled substance for sale and possession of a firearm by an
ex-felon.
He was sent to
the Mountain Home Conservation Camp in November 1996 and escaped from there on
Dec. 14, 1996.
A special agent searched a residence in Colton on Jan. 18 and
arrested Montesdeoca, who was living in the basement.
After confirming his
identity, they transported him to California Institution for Men
without incident.
