Landline 911 Emergency System In Tranquility Back In Service

Posted:
TRANQUILLITY, Calif. (KMPH) -

UPDATE: The landline 911 emergency management system for Tranquility is back in service.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The landline 911 emergency management system is down in the community of Tranquility.

The Fresno County Sheriff's Office received a phone call Friday morning from the CAL Fire Department in Tranquility, advising that the landline 911 emergency management system was down.

The telephone companies responsible for the landline have been working to correct the problem. In the meantime, they are working on redirecting the Tranquility landline 911 calls to the non-emergency phone number in the Fresno County Sheriff's Office Communications Center, so emergency calls will be answered.

No timeline has been provided for the fix. Anyone having problems connecting to 911 can call the Fresno County Sheriff's Office at 559-600-3111.
