Search Suspended For Missing Plane Over Yosemite

Posted:
YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK, Calif. (KMPH) -

The search for the missing plane over Yosemite National Park has been suspended.

On December 17th, the single engine plane was last detected over the North Dome area of the park. Search efforts since its disappearance have not produced any clues or evidence of the plane's location.

Strong winds have made the search extremely hazardous, and over five feet of new snow at the higher elevations of the park have made it nearly impossible to see any remnants of the plane.

Search teams flew over approximately 8,000 miles of search area.

The plane was being flown solo by Nicol Wilson, from the Santa Barbara area.
