VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -
Police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 56-year-old woman and leaving her for dead near downtown Visalia.
On Monday morning, officers were called to the area of S. Locust and W. Main streets after a woman was found raped and badly beaten on a sidewalk. She was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in Fresno where she was last listed in critical but stable condition.
The next day, police arrested 28-year-old Josue Hernandez-Estrada after finding him driving a car that matched a description in the case. He was booked into the Tulare County Jail.
