VISALIA, Calif. (KMPH) -
A woman is accused of shoplifting then abandoning one of her kids at the mall in Visalia.
Police were called to Macy's in the Visalia Mall just before 6 p.m. Sunday.
Store employees said 28-year-old Lori Martinez walked out with stolen merchandise.
She had one of her children in a stroller.
When they tried to detain her, she ran away and left her child behind, police said.
Martinez was later found hiding in a car in the Visalia Mall parking lot.
She was arrested and found to be in possession of methamphetamine, police said.
She now faces a number of charges, including shoplifting and child endangerment.
