Fresno Couple Welcomes 12-12-12 Baby

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

12-12-12 proved to be an especially lucky day for one Fresno couple.

Pedro and Claudia Garcia welcomed their first child, baby Sofia, at 12:40 Wednesday morning at Saint Agnes Medical Center in Fresno.

The couple says their family is thrilled with Sofia's birthday.

Mom says she could've done without the 14 hours of labor. Despite that, both parents are over the moon for the new addition to their family.

"I was hoping for yesterday on the 11th and not have to wait all the way to the 12th, but I guess it's what she wanted," Claudia Zepeda-Garcia said.

"It was very special for me. It was just being there for her, making sure everything was fine and welcome our little girl into the world," Pedro Garcia said.

The Garcias say they're looking forward to getting out of the hospital and starting their new lives as parents.
