Turning 12 on 12-12-12, Porterville Girl’s Unique Birthday

Posted:
PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KMPH) -

By all accounts Cienna Correa is your typical 11-year-old girl.

But when it comes to numbers, she should consider hitting the slot machines, or, at least when she's 18.

"I'm going to be 12 this year, 2012," Cienna said.

But not just in 2012, Cienna will turn 12 on Wednesday, 12-12-12.

And that's not all; guess what time she was born.

"At 12:12 am," she said.

Yep, she'll turn 12 on 12-12-12 at 12:12 a.m.

"It's not just another birthday. It's unique too. It's once in a lifetime, never going to happen again," Jerry Correa, Cienna's dad, said.

A post on Facebook about Cienna's unusual birthday went viral.

"Whenever it was posted on Facebook, I was surprised on how many likes and comments I got within a couple minutes," Cienna said.

"We're getting comments from people all over the United States," Jerry said.

"People from Florida, Georgia, Wyoming, they're like oh cool, happy birthday, happy birthday from this state and that state. So I think it's cool," Julie Correa, Cienna's aunt, said.

But for the big day, Cienna says she'll lay low.

"Umm nothing, probably just take a couple cupcakes to school and just celebrate," Cienna said.

Her dad, however, has a few plans of his own.

"I'll probably wake her up at 12 minutes after midnight and give her a nice hug and kiss and tell her happy birthday, maybe 12 spankings in bed," Jerry joked.

Cienna's family says, they always knew this day would come.

"Everybody at the hospital, the nurses, the doctors, were all tripping out. I knew one day in 2012 this would actually happen," Jerry said.

Cienna's parents say they've been proud of her every minute of every hour of every year,

"I just want to say happy birthday to her on a very special day," Jerry said.

And here's another interesting tidbit we got from Cienna's family, if you add all of the two's from 12-12-12 and 12:12 a.m., plus turning 12-years-old, that comes out to the number 12.
