OAKHURST, Calif. (KMPH) -

A man is in the Madera County Jail, accused of several burglaries in the Oakhurst area.

Madera County sheriff's deputies say surveillance video helped them identify 30-year-old John William Cotey as the man behind several burglaries.

Cotey was arrested Monday morning outside a gas station in Oakhurst.

According to the sheriff's office, the parolee is linked to a number of burglaries, including a nursery in Oakhurst where surveillance video captured him removing two surveillance cameras from the complex.

Deputies say they found marijuana, crystal meth, burglary tools and stolen items in Cotey's car. He now faces burglary and drug-related charges.

Investigators believe he did not act alone.

Anyone with more information about this case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (559) 498-STOP.
