Race To The Top: Lindsay Unified Awarded Grant

FRESNO, Calif. (KMPH) -

The U.S. Department of Education announced Tuesday that the Lindsay Unified School District is one of 16 applicants that will receive a Race to the Top education grant.

This is the first time the department has offered Race to the Top funds to districts.

Lindsay Unified is expected to receive a federal grant of about $10 million.

The 16 finalists were chosen from the 372 applications the department received in November.
